Ten for Tuesday 3.30.10

Tuesday again?! I think it's been awhile since I posted, but not much is going on. The quality of photos on my camera speaks to how boring things have been around here lately. . .

1. I was getting ready to download pictures onto the computer and Blake said. "Mom, you gonna picture me?" Sure! He loves to look at his pictures on my camera screen!

2. This little one slept in his BIG BOY BED for the first time last night! Everything went smoothly. Fingers crossed tonight goes well!

3. I've been trying to convince Reed that we need a new crib for the new baby. I'm a bit hyper/anal/nazi about "safety" when it comes to baby products. I know many of you would probably say that I should supervise my kids a little more closely, and not worry quite so much about whether they are strapped in with a 5-point harness. I agree. But. . . I have complete control over the 5-point harness. My attention span. . . not so much. You do the best you can, right? Anyway, I've been worrying about the drop side on our crib that has already broken once, and feel like a crib with a stationary side would give me some piece of mind. Reed thinks that a couple of 2X4s and some big old screws should take care of the problem. We'll see. When I went to put Blake down in his crib for a nap today, the drop side collapsed and some of the slats pulled apart. I SWEAR I did NOT do it on purpose! Anyway, I've kind of got my eye on this adorable crib from my not-so-favorite store Walmart. We'll see.

BTW, I love this blog! Plus, Sherry and I have the same due date, which is fun.

4. Reed and I took the kids down to St. George last week for a little bit of sun and R&R. Ha! Not quite as warm as I had hoped, but it was SO nice to see the sun! As for R&R. Double ha! Reed thought when he reserved a King Suite that there would be a door to close between where we were sleeping and where the kids were sleeping, but that wasn't the case. Needless to say, there wasn't much sleeping going on. But, the kids and I totally enjoyed the pool. Reed enjoyed the zillions of basketball games that were on (BTW, our brackets are toast!), and I enjoyed having my nose in a book all weekend!

5. This was the book, and I loved it!

6. I love seeing my boys in their cute Easter sweater vests. We broke them out on Sunday. This is my attempt to get a decent picture.

Seriously. Aren't they darling? Yep. The cute one in the middle will most likely be getting braces within the year!

7. We took a trip to the dentist today. I won't say which, but one little boy had ZERO cavities! Hooray! The other little boy had EIGHT! Wow.

8. My little leprechaun! St. Patty's day was pretty uneventful at our house this year. I am so scatter brained these days that I couldn't even remember to dye the milk green. Poor little Michael was disappointed because a classmate told him if he left his shoes outside that a leprechaun would fill them with treats. Well the sneaky leprechaun did not show up at our house. Maybe we can be a little more festive next year!

My friend Linn made these awesome cupcakes for her kids, and I love the idea. Maybe next year!

9. These days nearly everyone I see asks me "How are you feeling?" Honestly? I am 33 weeks pregnant! How do you think I'm feeling?! I look and feel like a freakin' beached whale. Glad you asked.

Oh, I am such a snot. I know the question is full of good intentions. I'm just tired! And cranky! And miserable! I know it could be SO much worse, and that I'm a pretty big (not to mention fat) baby about this whole pregnancy business. But, I'm really good at whining, and I like to keep my skills sharp. So, if you happen to ask me how I'm feeling, prepare yourself for an earful. Prepare yourself anyway. I'm also really good at sharing too much information---even if you don't ask. I told Ty that I wish babies were just delivered in the mail, and he laughed for a long time.

Other than break out the Easter candy and keep company with my TiVo, there is pretty much nothing I want to do these days. My "To Do List" pretty much makes me want to cry, so I try to avoid it at all costs. Not that there is anything super hard on the list, but I'd just rather not do anything, ya know? Things like filling out the census, kindergarten registration, hospital registration, rebate forms, reading logs, paying parking tickets and requesting birth certificates seem like such a drag. Things like buying Birthday presents and getting ready for the service project I really should get around to doing. . . Things like picking up toys off the floor and making dinner are completely optional these days.

10. We're having scrambled eggs for dinner. Again. Just thought you might like to know.

So glad you posted I love to read your Ten for Tuesday. And yes you definitely need a new crib. And complain all you want you deserve it!! Being pregnant is sooooo hard.

I'm relieved to know that you are sick of getting the "how are you feeling?" question because I wanted to scream at church on Sunday when I heard it at least 30 times! As far as projects go, I've given up on all of them. I'm pretty sure I just need my bassinet, diapers and a few sleepers for this baby when it comes in June and that's really all I'm going to do to prepare for it, so there you go!
