Time to catch up on the blog. Here's a bit of a recap of what we did last summer:
We spent many hours at the pool. It was time for us to get serious about swim lessons. The boys all made a lot of improvement this summer.

Michael became a cub scout! He loves scouts!
Above is Michael with his pinewood derby car that his dad helped him make. Below is a picture of his car coming across the finish line is 1st place. Way to go Michael!
Michael also had his very first set of stitches (he was trying to carve a piece of wood with his dull pocket knife---ouch!). It was really painful and we hope it never happens again!

Michael also got braces! It was an eventful summer for him. I've got a really great picture from the ortho's office, but I will spare Michael the embarrassment of me posting it online. Maybe I'll save it to show future girlfriends or something like that! Michael's been a real trooper about the braces. No complaining at all except for the fact that he can't chew gum.

Blake finally got to play on a real soccer team!

Ethan finally got a haircut. (So sad!) Reed was fed up with him looking like this every day:

Now he looks like this:

You have no idea how sad I am that his cute curls are gone.
After much begging, the boys finally got to ride their bikes to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Reed hurt his shoulder playing ball, and had to sit the entire summer out. Bummer!

My mom and sisters came over to divy up some of my Grandma's old jewelry. Good stuff!

The boys spent a lot of time hunting bugs in the backyard.

They should have been looking for bugs in the garden beds. We had a major infestation and had to rip the entire garden up. The garden was so disappointing that Reed has me seriously considering pouring concrete over the entire area for a better basketball court. We'll see. . .
Ty did some experimentation with fashion. . .

Ethan became a master trouble maker.
More later!

I can't believe Michael has braces! I mean he doesn't seem old enough for any of that, but braces?!
And I have high hopes for a garden here. I started thinking it wasn't worth it in California cause is so cheap and just as good (or better!) but I think it will be a different story here and growing it myself may be the best way to get quality.
Glad you're updating the blog, stranger!
