Ten for Tuesday 8.12.08

  1. The basement flooded again. Let me tell you how happy I was to see all this water in the basement. I was rushing around trying to pack for trek, and my back was killing me, and then I got to deal with this mess. . . At least the kids thought it was fun!

2. I made my first ever batch of freezer jam, and it was delicious! We've been devouring it ever since. Michael was so excited to finally have jam just like Valerie's and Grandma's.
3. This is a new favorite game at our house. Blake was laughing hysterically. . . until he fell off.
4. Trek was awesome, and totally exhausting. I'm so glad we went, and I'm so glad to be home! More on trek later.
5. When I came home Blake was a little bit less than excited to see me. I'm not sure if I startled him when I came in the door, or if he was just plain mad at me for leaving. Anyway, he wouldn't even come to me, and he buried his face in Nana's shoulder for awhile. Grandma, Grandpa and Nana took great care of the kids, and I have a feeling that they are all relieved that I am the lucky mother of three very active boys, and that they are the grandparents!
6. The morning after trek I went in for a massage and a haircut. Ahhh. Reward. I don't think there is anything better than a good massage.
7. Reed had a few days off of work in between trek and our family reunion this week, so I kept him busy with a long "honey-do" list, and I made a bunch of appointments and ran errands without the kids. Thanks for all your help Reed!
8. Michael got to watch Pinocchio at Grandma's house while we were gone. Yesterday he explained to me that "When you wish upon a star your dreams really do come true. They really do Mom!"
9. Ty's imagination is running wild lately. He is just cracking me up telling little stories and making up songs. I keep finding him pretending that his apple slices are people and having full two-sided conversations with his food. The other day we spent a significant amount of time playing "Princess and Knight." He was protecting me from the dragons, and he kept bringing me pretty new dresses to try on.
10. Blake has figured out how to pull the chairs away from the table so that he can climb up onto the table and high chair. Oh boy. . .

Way to go on the freezer jam. I haven't canned anything yet this year. Sorry about the basement! I love what Michael said about dreams coming true. I'm excited to hear more about Trek!
