Blake is my little firecracker. So full of energy and personality. Right now he really wants to be a big boy---no more baby stuff for him! He doesn't want to ride in the stroller, sit in a high chair, or take a nap. I wish this would translate into a desire to potty train, but we're not quite there yet! He wants to do everything by himself---and take his own sweet time, which can be maddening sometimes---especially when we are getting in the car. (Just get in already! Let's go!) He wants to do the buckle on his carseat, the zipper on his jammies, and climb in and out of his crib by himself. Oh, and he is the sole person in charge of opening and closing doors---including the microwave, fridge, front door, and van door (Don't even think about pushing that little button on your remote, Mom.). He wants to be Mom's helper, which is really sweet, so I try to give him little tasks that make him feel important. He especially likes to help me cook.
In the last few weeks his speech has really improved. I really can understand a lot of what he is saying now, which is so great. I still occasionally have no idea what he is talking about, but those occasions are fewer and farther between. He is constantly saying cute and funny things. Here are some of my current favorites:
- "Moom it!" (Move over!)
- "I want more hot sauce." (I want more hot cereal---the kid is addicted!)
- "Milk it, Mommy!" (Pour milk on my cereal)
- "I love you."
- "I did it!"
- "I pooped again."
- "I getting angry!" (Wonder who he heard that from?)
- "I want to watch a show." This is always followed by a very sweet smile! (Great way for me to get a shower in the morning.)
- "I want a big jump! (He is obsessed with jumping off of things. )
Fun at the firm party.
Just being cute.
