I have a zillion things to post. We've had such a busy summer. It may take me awhile to get caught up!
1. For Pioneer day we BBQ'd a Great Nana's house. She created some obstacle course races for the kids, complete with candy prizes. The *kids* had a great time, and Great Nana earned the title of "Coolest Great Grandma Ever."

Wheelbarrow races.
2. We recently attended a sealing in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. Our good friends (of almost 10 years!) were sealed to their new baby girl. Both of their little girls were so adorable in their pretty white dresses, and were so well behaved. We love this family and were so happy to be able to share such a happy day with them.
3. The next day we were off to the cabin with Reed's family. We have all been looking forward to this trip pretty much since we went last year. Although any trip is a lot of work, this is probably the most relaxing kind of trip to take with kids. The kids had lots of time to play with their cousins, find rocks and sticks, play video games, and eat treats. The adults had their share of video games, good food and of course our favorite card game. . . scum. The guys went golfing, and the girls went shopping. Good times!
Grandma brought lots of fun things like bubbles and punch balls to keep the kids entertained. She also brought about 97 pounds of candy. Not joking.

4. We also went to the aquatic center.
5. That week Giannina and Andrew were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a great day, and we're so happy for them.
Gorgeous family! Every single one of these girls has hair to die for. I think I need Kassandra to show me how to wear a side pony.
Giannina looked amazing in her wedding dress.
All the girls: Giannina, Maddy, Dana, Alison, Me & Mom.
6. My sister Alison who just moved to Texas came back home for a few days for business and was able to be there for the sealing. It was fun to see her and chat about their big move. She had to miss Zach's first day of DENTAL SCHOOL. Poor Zach. Hope everything else went smoothly on his first day!
7. I took the boys over to the school a couple of weeks ago to check out books from the library and find their new classrooms. Afterward we went out to the playground and walking track. Michael was excited to tell Ty all about the school and the playground rules. He kept saying "It feels good to be back." I'm so glad he likes school and is excited for the school year to begin.
8. Are you ready for more proof that I have baby brain? I know it's not really necessary. Everyone knows I'm not operating at full throttle. But I like to share embarrassing stories about my life. . . to make all of you feel better about yourselves. You're welcome. So a couple of Sundays ago I showed up to Relief Society and did not know it was my week to teach. . . until Valerie announced it. Say what? Who's giving the lesson? Me? Crap! No! It's not my week. I'm supposed to teach next week. I haven't even read it! Crap!
Yup. It happened. I'm a moron.
9. In other crappy news, one of my favorite places to shop is going out of business. I'll miss my Shade shirts! I've literally worn one every day for the past 5 years. Sniff.
10. Even worse news. . . My next door neighbors are moving. I'm so sad. They are some of my favorite people, and they are the best neighbors. I've been making my way through the seven stages of grief for the past two weeks. Shock and denial. Pain and guilt. Anger. Bargaining. I think it's going to be awhile before I make it to Acceptance.

Fun, busy summer. Why do all of the good businesses in Utah keep failing? First Bukoos (we loved that place), then Jake's over the Top (that kept Todd coming back for visits), and now Shade? What almost did Todd in was when he thought Granny Annie's also went out of business. Turns out they were just closed that day.
I love live sealings. I just keep waiting for it to be my turn! Let me know if you want to come when we seal Hayden to us - we'll do it in Bountiful once we finally get clearance.
I just read this. What stage of grief are you in now? I am sorry, miss you so!
