We had a fun Halloween this year! Here's how we celebrated:
Great Nana sent us a box full of pumpkins from her garden. The boys had a great time painting them. Thanks Nana!
I went along with Blake's preschool class to the pumpkin patch. This was such a cute kid-sized maze.
Blake's class also had a fun program and carnival. Here he is doing ghost bowling!
I got to do the snack table at Ty's class Halloween party. Ty was really excited for me to come to his class. When he saw me come he walked clear across the room to give me a big hug and kiss! He is such a sweetie! Michael wouldn't be caught dead kissing his mom in front of his class!
The kids especially liked my "witches brew" (root beer with dry ice), and I saved some for dinner that night so Blake and Michael could have some too.
Decorating cookies at Grandma's house!
Carving pumpkins.
Everyone liked my fish pumpkin. It won first place in the ward contest! Usually Reed cleans out the pumpkins and I get to carve them. I definitely think I get the better end of the deal!

Enjoying the Trunk -er- Treat at the church.
Trick -or- Treating at Dad's office and around the neighborhood. Plus homemade doughnuts at Great Nana's house. Yum!
Costumes. We used recycled ones this year. I just didn't get my act together early enough to be terribly creative this year, but the kids didn't seem to mind too much.

Of course the kids collected an obscene amount of candy this year. I mean really. I couldn't deal with having all of that candy around the house calling for me to come eat it. We all know what I will do if there is a bowl of candy in the house. Eat it until it is gone! So I decided to try something different this year. I let the kids have at it for a day or two and then they each picked their favorites to go back in the bag, and I bought the rest from them. They were excited about the money, and seemed satisfied with the amount of candy they got to keep. Although now that Michael's candy is gone I think he's having second thoughts about the trade! The candy is all out of the house, and I am so proud of myself for not inhaling it like I usually do. Design Mom had a post recently about Halloween candy, and she reminded me of another great post that had a really fun idea for candy swapping. Do any of you have a great idea I should remember for next year?
