Ten for Tuesday 5.6.08

1. My friend Lacey decided she was going to not have ANY treats from Monday until Friday this week, and I thought maybe I should do that with her so I could get a handle on this sugar addiction thing. I did really well. Until Monday night. That's when my neighbor brought me an enormous piece of homemade strawberry shortcake. It was delicious! I've decided I'm completely hopeless!
2. Check out this baby I found at Walmart. It's a 55 gallon water drum for our emergency storage. Anyone want to wager how long it will sit in our living room until we get around to finding a permanent place for it and fill it with water?
3. Climbing trees. What fun!

4. On Friday we went to graduation for Uncle Matt and Uncle Adam. Way to go guys! We're proud of you!
5. This was our weekend project. We were hoping to get it all planted.

This is how far we actually got. Everything takes longer with a baby around! While we were working in the yard Blake discovered he likes to eat dirt.

6. Between yesterday and today I have done 10 loads of laundry. . . including folding, ironing, and putting away. My life is so glamorous!
7. On Sunday night we had a scare with our neighbor Chuck who had to go in to the hospital. Luckily he is doing okay and it was not life-threatening.
8. Blake learned to clap this week, and he has been practicing his new skill non stop.
9. On Sunday Reed and I were in desperate need of naps, so we put all of the kids down and fell asleep ourselves. Our sneaky older boys decided to ditch their rooms and made their way over to our neighbor's house where there is a new trampoline in the back. The boys always know they can head next door for good food and good fun. I'm so embarrassed. There I was ASLEEP in my room while the boys were hanging out with the neighbors. Apparently we left the gates unlocked after our yard work on Saturday. Those kids can smell it in the air whenever we let our guard down!
10. This morning I was giving Ty a bath and Michael came upstairs to proudly tell me that he drank straight out of the milk jug and didn't even spill! I used to get in BIG trouble when I did that as a kid, and I could never figure out why my mom always got so mad. Now I understand. I couldn't bring myself to use the milk for my cereal this morning, and had to open a new jug. The other one has Michael's name all over it.

Believe it or not, I have gone two days without treats ... unless you count licking the icecream spoon which was truly more of a natural reflex than me trying to sneak a taste. Anyway, try it! It's easier than I thought (kind of).

I was eyeing those barrels the other day at Walmart because it was such a steal of a price. I hppe they are still in stock! WOW 10 loads of laundry folded and put away I'm very impressed. My clean clothes are still piled high in my bedroom calling my name so if you get bored... :)

I love your sneaky boys. They are so cute and silly and have so much personality. Sorry to break your sugar fast with Strawberry Shortcake. But it was soooo yummy and I just knew you would love some of it. Monday when Blake was clapping it was so precious. He was showing off his new trick to me. Such a doll!

That is so funny about Michael being so proud of himself for drinking without spilling! I love that he came and told you about it. Good luck on your sugar fast - I wouldn't have been able to resist strawberry shortcake either! :)

10 loads all ironed, folded and put away! I'm impressed. I used to have one laundry day, now it seems never ending.

Sounds like so much fun doing that much laundry. Hope you guys have sooo much fun planting in the back the worst part is getting the weeds out so you can plant. Good Luck

I'm hoping I never catch Mia drinking out of the jug. She's not tall enough to reach it yet. Instead of cutting out treats for five days in a row.....why not try only having one sweet a day ;). I'm totally joking.
