I may have to re-think this whole Ten for Tuesday bit. I am really struggling to come up with anything this week.
1. First off, a big thank you to my dad the fix-it man. He came by and solved a number of my household woes. He seems to have a knack for fiddling around and making things work. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a simple or easy solution to our water in the basement problem. Ugh.
2. Pooh Pooh to Punxsutawney Phil. Who needs six more weeks of winter?
3. My kids are starting to go stir crazy. I'd love to send them out for some fresh air, but unfortunately there is none to be found. I will be happy to see these red alert air quality days gone.
4. Last week I got online to try to find out some information about a proposal to build a new power plant in our county. I was unsuccessful in finding someone to contact and express my views about this issue. Anyone know more about this? I, for one, am not excited about adding a power plant that will be burning some of the dirtiest fossil fuels available to an area that already is combating some of the worst pollution in the country. Call me crazy. Apparently I'm in the minority. I read the comments left on the Deseret News articles, and it seems that anyone who is concerned with air quality is a tree-hugging liberal who should unplug from the grid and move in with the Amish. Honestly, in the dead of winter when we've had 28 red air days in a row and the smog is so thick you are chewing on it, moving to Amish country doesn't sound so bad.
5. Okay, enough of that. . . on Friday night I went out with some girlfriends to a crazy little hole-in-the wall Lebanese restaurant. Good times my friends. We walked through hanging beads to a little room off to the side that was reserved for groups. The walls were surrounded with couches and there were ottomans with large brass trays that we ate off of. When we arrived there were a couple of girls practically passed out on the couches sucking on something that looked a lot like this:

Apparently a tobacco-free-flavored-smoke-making contraption. Nasty. It made me sick to my stomach, so I was glad they cleared out quickly. I can't say I've ever really had Lebanese food, so I was glad we ate "family style" so I could try all different kinds of dishes. The food was delicious. My favorites were the hummus and pita bread, lentil soup, chicken pastilla, and the baclava. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the belly dancer. Yes, belly dancer. She was a lot of fun. I thought the food was pricey, and not really a place I'd want to go every weekend, but I definitely had a fun "experience" with the girls. Thanks for the invite and good company Jess!
6. I went to Michael's basketball game for the first time on Saturday. What a hoot! It is seriously hysterical to watch those kids grab the ball and run down the court going the wrong way---all without thinking twice about dribbling. Michael seems to have a really athletic team though, so I think he will enjoy this season.
7. Blake is in love with his new super hero shirt that Grandma gave him. (BTW, no diaper incidents this week!)
8. I am totally LOVING this season of LOST so far. Finally getting some answers and seeing the puzzle come together. If you're a fan of the show, you might like to check out this website. I think it's a lot of fun. Losteastereggs.blogspot.com
9. I've got to get out of this winter-time funk. Maybe if I look at something pretty and orange. . .
10. That's all I got folks. See ya next week. . . maybe. . .

I haven't heard anything about it but it surely does not make me happy. A sore throat from air quality is not the best thing. I am so down with some bra-burning, tree-hugging, kumbaya singin, hooka smokin'- oh wait. Scratch that- but some major demonstrating!
Friday was a major blast. So fun! The food was amazing but overpriced for sure. I guess you pay for the experience sometimes!
This was the last I heard about the power plant. It sounds like it is dead in the water. http://www.abc4.com/mostpopular/story/Power-plant-in-West-Bountiful-not-likely/vDlM9NO9E0KVPBTmBPH-Tg.cspx
Plus they also made it sound that the company is only considering this area.
Kinda nice when life slows down a bit, huh? btw, how's it going with Reed in the bishopric. Todd sat with us during stake conference last week and I overheard him telling someone he gets much more out of church when he sits on the stand! Tell me about it! Try doing it alone! (And I thought Austin was really good that day)
