Another BIG news week. Hold onto your seats folks!
1. I have a new favorite child. At least for today. Who would have ever guessed that he would be my easiest one? This is a long time comin'.
2. Blake's new word of the day is "why?" I'm super-excited about that one.
3. My other two kids are grounded. For. the. rest. of . their. lives.
4. We've had a super day at our house.
5. At least it ended okay. Ice cream always makes things better. Don't you agree?
Kinda looks like a goatee huh?
6. Michael has had a major kink in his neck since Sunday. Poor kid. Anyone have advice on how to make it feel better?
7. My VCR bit the dust. Must be a sign. . . time for TIVO! Now if I could just convince Reed. . .
8. Dan & Alisa came to visit on Friday. Their sweet baby took her very first steps right in front of me. I think she likes me! Dan & Alisa also let us borrow their copy of Mario Party, and we've been having quite the party at our house ever since. But, I have to admit I am hopelessly bad at the game. Seriously, I can drive right under those darn coins and never pick up a single one. I have vague remembrances of playing this game with a friend in high school, and said friend laughed hysterically at me because my guy was constantly getting stuck going backwards on the side of the road. Sadly, my gaming abilities have not improved over the last 15 years.
9. On Saturday we dug out the other two window wells in the backyard. Not a fun task. Not at all. I guess I shouldn't really say we. I didn't actually get down into the window well. But, I did help. And, I am sore. We hired a young man who lives down the street to come help us, and that was a very, very good idea. He was such a hard worker, and worth every penny we paid him. He finished up the window wells and then dug trenches for the rain gutter run off. We got more done in one day than we could have in several weekends, and I am so pleased. As you can see, we still have a big mess to clean up, but hopefully we'll have our water problems solved soon. Now if it would just stop snowing. . .
10. Every once in awhile you get a glimpse of the future. I just got one. I made lunch on Saturday, and our hired help ate two huge sandwiches for lunch. Now, he deserved every last calorie considering how hard he worked, and I gladly made him that second sandwich. But, I had a flash forward and thought about what it was going to be like trying to keep three teenage boys fed, and I feared for my grocery budget. I better start saving now.
BTW, anyone else see LOST? Not my favorite episode. And, no way is Ben dead.

You totally need tivo now!
Looks like you got a ton of work done. Hopefully no more water problems.
here's a happy thought: guess who is going to be home this fall? and will babysit your children whenever you want to kill them? me. maybe i will start charging you sandwiches...
also, maybe i am still delusional and don't know how hard it is to be a mom but for some reason i think it would be so fun to feed a ton of teenage boys
I love messy ice cream pictures! Good luck with all those sandwiches you'll be making in the upcoming years:)
I'm curious why your two boys are grounded for the rest of their lives??
Of course there is no way that Ben is dead. It's Sawyer and Kate taking him to the Others that makes him turn out so freaky. If only Sayid had shot him in the HEAD (several times)...By the way, do you think Charles Widmore is the "good guy" compared to Ben? Yes, we're addicts, too.
I love that first picture of Blake! So cute. I know this is probably not nice, but it makes me feel better when other people are frustrated with their kids. At least I know I'm not alone.
