Crazy Wind

We had a crazy wind storm a few weeks ago that did a lot of damage in our neighborhood/city/county.  I tossed and turned all night listening to the wind outside, and never once thought about the fact that we had a trampoline in the backyard that should be secured.  I woke up around 6:30 am to Reed telling me that the trampoline had flown over the fence and into the Baker's house.  In my sleep-deprived fog, I heard the words "into the Baker's house,"  and I literally thought our trampoline had broken through their windows and was sitting on their kitchen table.  Luckily, the damage wasn't that bad!  The trampoline did hit two of our neighbors homes, but thankfully did not go through the windows.  We had some damage to our fence and roof, but I think we fared pretty well.  It made me sad to drive through town and see so many beautiful old trees that had come down.  We've had some pretty good wind storms in the past, but this is the worst I've ever seen it.  It was crazy to look out the window and see fences, trees and garbage cans just flying down the street.  I kept having flashes of The Wizard of Oz pop into my mind.  Anyway, the kids enjoyed their days home from school, and it provided a little excitement around here.

These pictures are from my Mom & Dad's backyard.  The neighbor's huge tree came down and took the fence with it.  They also had several trees that landed in their front yard that didn't belong to them.  I went over and collected a bunch of fresh pine to decorate for Christmas.  It smelled good, but man was it a mess. I won't do that again!
