- Who gets a cold in July?
- Me. Yuck.
- I was feeling lousy this week, so I pretty much let the house slide. . . which may explain why. . .
- We have ants in our kitchen. Yuck. We sprayed some organic bug spray to get rid of the ants, and it wreaks! Yuck.
- Enough of the low points. . . onto the highlights. . . Fourth of July! The kids were so excited for the parade and fireworks this year. Luckily, Reed's mom was willing to watch Blake so he could have a nap, and we could enjoy the parade. The boys were all over the candy this year. They insisted on wearing their swim suits for the water fight at the end of the parade.
Michael couldn't handle the loud sirens!
Here's the crowd. Reed's Dad joined my family for the parade. Afterwards Reed's mom made us a great lunch. That night we BBQ'd at Great Nana's house and enjoyed the fireworks at the high school. Lots of excitement for one day. The kids were totally exhausted the next day.
6. On Saturday we went to see some houses in the Parade of Homes nearby. Reed and I think it's fun to go look (although the fun factor goes down with each additional kid we take along). I like to get design ideas, and Reed likes to see the floor plans. I'm always a bit disappointed with the decorating in these homes. Usually they all have the same boring stuff (not that my house is any better, unfortunately). I figure if you can afford to spend millions building the home, you should at least hire someone with great design sense to decorate it, but that doesn't always happen. Anyway, we had a good time, and we saw a few things we liked.
7. Today was the last day of Michael and Ty's knight class. They had a water party, and a "feast," and were both made knights. They came home with helmets, swords, and shields, and big smiles on their faces.

I wish I could figure out how to take better pictures inside. It seems like my photos are always grainy and blurry. I better keep practicing. . .

8. One sad fact about my life is that I have not bought a new swim suit since high school. Sad, but true. Yuck, I know. I decided it was WAY past time to get a new one, and decided that this year I would buy myself a nice new one. Who knew it would be so complicated? Of all the gazillions of options Lands End has to offer, I could not find ONE that was exactly what I wanted. Of course, I waited too late in the season, and some of the ones I did like were out of stock. Twice I put items in my shopping cart and decided to think about them overnight, and when I went to order them in the morning they were already sold out in my size. Aargh! After hours of trying to find the perfect suit I finally gave up and decided to wait until next season. I am too cheap to buy a suit that I'm not going to be happy with, and if I'm going to spend that much money I want it to be just right. Never mind the fact that I will probably never look decent in a swim suit again. Something about having three children. . .
9. Now that LOST is over for the season (silent sobs), my show of the week is So You Think You Can Dance. Love it! If you are at all interested in dance, it is pure entertainment. Right now I really like Chelsie and Mark, but there are a lot of really fantastic dancers to watch. Anyone else have a favorite?
10. Blake has also had a busy week. He's still as cute as ever, and is really getting around. He's actually walking pretty well now. His favorite place to play are the stairs going down to the back patio. He also has figured out that buttons are really fun. He loves to turn the TV on and the computer off. What at stinker!

I totally hear you on the swimming suit ordeal. There's this place in Provo called Billy Jo Clothing, and they custom-make swimming suits. I had two made there for my honeymoon (wish they still fit!), and I absolutely loved them. You can choose from all sorts of fabric swatches, and she makes it just how you want.
I did some major swim suit looking online this summer and like the one I got, yet not 100% happy--but then again it's a swimsuit. Good luck with that. Also, I LOVE SYTYCD too! Love Will, Twitch and Karrington, Chelsie and Mark are great, and Joshua and Katee. I'll have to narrow it down soon!
I also understand the swimsuit trauma. I no longer fit into any of mine, so I had to get a new one, too. Fortunately, I found one on clearance at Kohl's that is okay--not my first choice, but it'll do. I'm glad I didn't pay full price because I'm hoping next year I will have to get a new smaller one.
Swim suits ARRRGH Hate them! But I did see some very cute stuff at a Modbe party. There catalog is online if you want to take a look. New series...I like watching 24 on Season DVD.
