Thank you Lacey for recommending this book! I LOVED it! I really did not want to put this book down all week long. It is a memoir of a girl who grew up in a very small town in Indiana. This was different from other memoirs I've read, because the author actually had a happy childhood to reflect on. The author has a very engaging voice and makes everyday situations laugh-out-loud funny. I can't even count how many times I was laughing so hard that I had to wipe the tears from my eyes. When "Zippy" was first born her mother took one look at her and said to her father, "I'll love her and protect her anyway." How's that for blind love? The author writes about her life at home and details relationships with her family, friends, and other people in her small town. She has a very quirky personality that is so different from mine, and I just loved seeing how the wheels in her head turned. This was such a fun book, and one I highly recommend.
