The Greatest Gift in the World 2008:04

This was our book club's pick for March, and I have to admit, I just wasn't in the mood for it, but I read it anyway because it was short and I wanted to be able to participate in the discussion. We don't generally read self-help books, but a new member to the group picked it, and we all went along. The book's premise was that by mastering 10 principles, the reader can improve his life, become a master at sales, and become rich. The 10 principles are written out on scrolls and the salesman is advised to read the first scroll three times a day for 30 days and then move onto the 2nd scroll and repeat. In addition, the salesman is counseled to live off half of his earnings and give the other half to people less fortunate. I liked the ideas behind many of the scrolls. but not enough to make me want to recite them three times a day. However, my neighbor does read the scrolls 3 times a day and he just recently started parking a Hummer in front of his house, so it must be working for him! Anyway, the book was not bad, but I just wasn't really in the mood for it---luckily I'm not trying to make a living through sales! By the way, thanks for all of the book suggestions. I've got a good list of recommendations that should last me awhile!
