Ten for Tuesday 3.17.08

  1. Fish # 2 went belly up. I can't explain why it gave me the creeps, but I made Reed flush this one too.
  2. Reed and I have been talking about refinancing our house and finally decided to lock our rate. Of course, the rates came down the very next day. AARRGH! It's so frustrating that it's such a game. If we had waited to lock today we would have saved ourselves a bundle of money.
  3. Reed put Michael to bed a couple of nights ago and said "Don't let the bed bugs bite!" A few minutes later Michael came down and said that he heard a sound under his pillow that scared him. "I think it sounded like bugs fighting under my pillow!" Of course, I had to take a flash light up to his room and inspect the bed for bugs. Nope. No bugs. He tried to use the same excuse to get out of bed for the next few nights.
  4. After preschool on Thursday Michael said he had the "best day ever!" Apparently a leprechaun knocked on the door at preschool and left little goodie bags for the kids. He came home completely convinced that leprechauns are real, and asked me to help him make a leprechaun catcher.
  5. Blake had his two upper teeth come in this week. He bit Ty's toe this morning, and Ty was NOT happy! Blake also figured out how to climb to the top of the stairs. Time for the gate to go up!
  6. Ty figured out that he is now tall enough to reach the garage door opener and escape to the front yard with his scooter.
  7. Reed helped the boys fill out their brackets last night for FHE. He offered to email me an article called "Brackets 101" with tips on picking the winning teams. He takes this VERY seriously! I think it honestly hurts his pride that I usually beat him. One year I picked Gonzaga to upset, and he was seriously beside himself when it actually happened.
  8. On Friday I had to take the appraiser down to the basement, and I was so embarrassed by the mess. Reed and I finally went down on Saturday and made a big dent in getting things organized. It feels so nice to take a big load to DI.
  9. For the first time in our marriage, I went to PEC on Sunday morning and Reed stayed home with the kids.
  10. I got called a tree-hugger yesterday. I'm so offended. Hah! Just kidding. I love it!

Well..
A. Sorry about the fish. Can you tell me what the secret is to that? Mine is still kicking and I am afraid he might be suffering from the black fungi growing all over him. Or could it be he is adapting to his enviroment? (Black rocks) Regardless, help me help myself.
B. Call your broker and tell them to lock you in with another lender. Seriously.. I am sure they have already done this for a jabillion people today.
C. Sorry about Blake and the stairs. I guess its good your child is advancing and stuff.. but its such a PIA!
D. Anything having to do with Brakets scare me.
E. I get called worse than a tree-hugger an a daily basis. Try being a democrat in Utah. HEHEHE!

What about the time when you picked Iona, a 14 seed, to upset the 3 seed, and it happened? Unbelievable. It is hard to compete with those kinds of predictions. (But I still have won half of years we've been married.)

So glad you're not offended! Did you know I was a real tree hugger for about 6 years of my life? During that time I lost numerous brain cells (doing things I will deny to this day) and slid over to the other side of the tree hugging spectrum ... well more to the middle, anyway. You truly are the most put together tree hugger ever.

Did you get a new calling that requires you to go to PEC? Fun stuff.

That stairs thing can sure be fun! I never did buy a gate because I didn't want to be doing hurdles a million times a day going up and down the stairs myself. Then again, I only have one kid and could keep a pretty close watch on him. A substitute pediatrician tried to convince me kids rarely get hurt very seriously by falling down the stairs. I couldn't believe a doctor was suggesting I not use a gate!

Nope, no new calling. I'm just planning a service project next month.
