1. Today was Silly Sally day at school. The kids were not allowed to wear Halloween costumes, but were encouraged to dress up in a silly way. The silliest kid in each class gets a prize. Michael is WAY into getting prizes, but not so much into being silly. This is what we came up with. I wanted him to wear a wig, pin a stuffed animal to his shoulder and draw a large eye in the middle of his forehead, but he vetoed all of the above. He looks pretty good with a mustache, no?
2. Blake has been doing this for at least three days now. . . actually, more like his whole life, but who's counting days? The poor kid has two teeth coming in and a runny nose. . . and he's got a mean streak. He thinks it's fun to push and hit. I am SO excited for him to be going to nursery next month (Reed is probably more excited since he's usually watching him while I'm in Primary), but I'm feeling a little bit nervous for the other little kids.
Blake hates it when I get in the shower. Since I haven't been working out in the mornings (yes, I've become a lazy blob), I haven't been up and showered bright and early, and Blake is not happy about it. When he finds out I'm in the shower he goes on a screaming rampage until I'm out. I'm not sure if he's upset that I'm in the shower, or if he's upset that it's not his turn for a bath, but he screams as though his arm has just been ripped off. I may need to start getting up early again.
3. Blake has a new word---"That!" He just started saying it last night, and it's pretty funny. He keeps pointing all around the kitchen saying "that!" When I hand him the thing that he wants, he is ever so proud of himself!
4. Oh this boy is naughty. I was dipping some bread in oil and vinegar the other day, and I got up from the table to get something, and this is what I found when I came back. He chewed on that bread for awhile. I couldn't believe he liked the taste of the vinegar! Blake is very into feeding himself right now. I recently have started to give him yogurt or applesauce in a bowl and let him feed himself with a spoon. It is such a mess, and gets everywhere, but he loves it!
5. Another big first in our family. . . Michael lost his tooth and got a visit from the Tooth Fairy!
6. Early voting starts today. I think I'm going to try and go early so I can beat the crowd.
7. Reed told me that our 401K is down 42% this year. Awesome. On the plus side, I only paid $3.20/Gal at the pump on Saturday. Wahoo! Seriously, who ever thought I'd be cheering about something like that?!
8. My mom came with us to the fabric store on Thursday. Note to self: never take children to a fabric store! Anyway, we found some cheap fabric, and now I've got about a week to whip up costumes for a little Yoda, and a littler vampire. Wish me luck!
9. My mom also helped me pick out some new yarn and knitting needles. The last set I chose were just a little too slippery, and pretty tough to learn on. My new project is going much faster than the last one, and hopefully I'll actually have a scarf to wear before winter is over!
10. And finally. . . We've had a sad day in our neighborhood. One of Michael's little primary friends died unexpectedly this morning. We just told Michael, and I know Michael will miss seeing him at church. This family has already had a really rough couple of years, and I am so sad that this has happened. Our prayers are with them. A day like today makes me just want to hold my kids close.

Oh, my heart is breaking to think of that poor family. I love hearing what you are all doing though. You guys are fabulous!
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is wondering what happened to the boy? Do they know what caused him to die? Was he with his family when it happened? Sad, sad stuff. Did Michael take it okay?
I can tell Blake is handful, but at least you have funny pictures and entertaining stories :) Your kids are so darn cute.
