Austenland 2008:15

This book was total fluff compared to The Count---which was actually a nice change of pace. It was kind of a fun book, and definitely a quick and easy read---but I didn't love it, and probably wouldn't spend my time reading it again. It's a book about a young woman whose life has been spoiled by her infatuation with all things Austen---especially Mr. Darcy. She takes a trip to "Austenland" where she can re-enact the life and times of Jane Austen characters. I had a hard time identifying with the main character in this book, and waffled back and forth between wanting her to find true love, and just wanting her to get a life. In no way does this book compare to the excellent writing of Jane Austen herself, and was not nearly as good as others I have read by Shannon Hale. Overall, I was entertained but disappointed.
