This might be a stretch today. . .
1. We had a lot of fun events to go to this week. On Wednesday Reed and I went to his firm Christmas party which was held at the Point restaurant at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. This is pretty much the only time of year that I get dressed up and go out to a really fancy restaurant, so it's something I look forward to each year. The food was fabulous! Can't wait for next year!
2. On Friday night we took the trek out to my Grandma & Grandpa's house for our family Christmas party. Once again, the food was fabulous, and so was the company. After dinner we did a $3 gift exchange that nearly always turns into a serious brawl. So glad no one got hurt this year! I was so lucky to come away with once of my uncle's paintings. If you've ever been to my house, you've seen his work. My house is pretty much an art gallery featuring his stuff. Anyway, I love his art, and I'm so excited to have another piece.

3. I was looking at this picture of my mom and sister Dana, and couldn't get over how much Dana looks like me when I was her age. Maybe it's just the hair. . .

4. On Saturday morning we trekked the opposite direction to go see Kelli graduate from college. Congratulations Kelli! We're proud of you! We got to spend the afternoon with Reed's family, and his parents treated us to lunch at a great little Mexican restaurant. Yum!
This picture cracks me up because it shows Blake's new favorite pastime. His finger has been practically glued in that spot for the past few days. Gross.

5. Speaking of trekking it up for graduation. . . I hate driving in the snow! The roads were such a mess, and I'm so glad we made it to and from safely.
6. Speaking of snow. . . this weather pretty much makes me want to live in sweats. These are my favorite things right now. NY&Co is the only place I can get these with long pants, and I am totally in love with them. I think I need about 10 sets so I can wear them every day---even when my laundry desperately needs to be washed.

Still on the subject of snow. . . this will be a permanent fixture in my family room until the snow is gone.

7. Saturday night we got to go play games with our friends Steve and Allie, and we had a great time. They live only a couple of blocks away, but we NEVER see them anymore. Isn't it lame that if someone lives in another ward, they might as well live in another country? Allie, we need to do a better job of getting together!
8. So lately I've been getting a lot of grief about how long Blake's hair has gotten. Okay, okay, it's about time for a cut. I know. I just cannot bring myself to do it. The last time I cut it, it looked really bad, and it took a really long time to grow back. I just can't bring myself to buzz him like the other two boys. His hair is just too fine and I don't think it would be quite right. He'd probably just end up looking bald. Plus, he's my baby, and he needs sweet baby hair, not a tough-guy toddler buzz cut. I'm going to have to break down and actually pay someone to cut it.

What do you think? Is it too long?

I just got a coupon in the mail for a new place called Snipits that advertises "Kids. Haircuts. Parties. Fun." My first thought was, "You're kidding me, right?" I'm not sure how that all works. You drop your kid off for a birthday party and she comes home with a new mullet do that she picked out when she was high on cherry cola? Anyway, I have the feeling that Blake is going to FREAK when I take him to get his hair cut, so maybe I'll try this place. Hopefully it will distract him long enough to get a decent cut. Wish me luck!

9. Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas to me! Look what showed up on my doorstep tonight! Have I mentioned that I LOVE getting neighbor gifts at the holidays?! I have heard that these cookies are to die for, but sadly, we live in Utah, and Trader Joe does not. So, imagine my thrill when I received a box of these! I was very reluctant to share.

The second time the doorbell rang tonight we all ran to the door, and Michael was shouting "It's probably somebody else bringing us treats!" He was right! We also got some DELICIOUS homemade salsa, but I couldn't get a decent picture before my kids and I gobbled it up at dinner. Thanks neighbors!
10. And now, the grand finale. . . "Police Navidad" everyone!

Love Ty song!!!
Oh that song--too sweet!
Austin pretty much has his finger up his nose all the time lately too. I don't know how to stop it!
I may have to try some of those Trader Joe's cookies. I had some other holiday cookies from Trader Joe's the other day and couldn't stop eating them. Unfortunately I don't need to be buying goodies myself right now because we get nightly deliveries, but then again, Trader Joe's probably won't be selling the cookies next month, will they? Dilemmas. Tis the season to eat chocolate.
Oh that song just made my heart melt. I just LOVE Ty. What a busy week. What a trooper. Dang- those trader Joe cookies are just delightful. :)
Ty is talented. Looking in my crystal ball...I'm sure I see a foreign mission in his future! Merry Christmas!
